The magnificent Titcomb Basin, my choice for the total solar eclipse of 2017. I figured that if it was cloudy, it wouldn't matter since it's so beautiful there.

Being above treeline, it was very windy at night, so I took the fly off of my tent so the flapping wouldn't keep me awake. I tilted my head up to look out the door & saw the Milky Way nicely aligned with the rocks on the ridge. I didn't even get out of my sleeping bag, lazy person that I am for this shot. I did have to sit up to get my camera & tripod, but just lay on my stomach for this shot.
