  • Rocks on Mars

    Rocks on Mars

The Mars Desert Research Station, that is. And this was adjacent to the Research Station as only Mars Society personnel can go onto the land owned by them.

  • Sun, Moon & Glass

    Sun, Moon & Glass

Temples of the Sun & Moon with Glass Mountain in the foreground. Glass Mountain is more of a hump of gypsum than a mountain, but has interesting, reflective facets to it. These are located in the Cathedral Valley of Capitol Reef National Park.

  • Spooky

    Spooky

Spooky slot canyon down the Hole In The Rock Road outside of Escalante, Utah. I had planned to go the following day in late morning to catch the best light, but the forecast was for snow & rain beginning at midnight & continuing for 3 days, so I went in the evening instead. Everybody else was coming out & was able to make it back to the trailhead just before dark.

    Zebra

I hadn't been to Zebra slot canyon in about a dozen years, so decided to go even when a storm was impending, as I wouldn't mind having to turn around before reaching it. What I hadn't counted on was how much water was in the slot. Just beyond where you can see, the water reached chest high and I turned around.

  • Long Slot

    Long Slot

Off of the Burr Trail in Utah that goes down Long Canyon is this little slot canyon.

Leprechaun Canyon in Utah. It was one of the film locations for the movie 127 Hours.

  • Ruins in Sheiks Canyon

    Ruins in Sheiks Canyon

Sheiks Canyon in the Cedar Mesa area of Utah has a number of ruins and rock art. It's a very fun little tributary to Grand Gulch, with numerous pools and pour-offs.

  • Pink Super Moon

    Pink Super Moon

Pink because of the flowers (phlox) that tend to be in bloom at this time of year. Super because it was the biggest moon in 2020.
